Burdett Trust for Nursing

Their Challenge

The Burdett Trust is the largest grant-making trust for nursing in the UK with extraordinary global reach and profile. As part of their strategy work they were looking to shape a story that is consistent, focused, and creative across all touchpoints for internal and external audiences. 

They are a small team, so they needed to enable everybody, including trustees, to tell a consistent story about Burdett. They also needed help to collaborate with external agencies and freelancers efficiently.

Their Story: Nursing is an innovator that shapes a healthier society

We ran a Story Workshop with the Chief Executive, trustees, design agency, and funded nurses. Everything was built on previous work, with a focus on editing and crafting a story that moved beyond the practical to the inspiring. We facilitated honest conversations that helped key stakeholders focus on their core purpose and move their organisation forwards. This was delivered as a Brand Story, including vision, mission and core elements like strengths and differentiators.

This was followed by a Creative Brief Workshop that supplied Burdett with a template for explaining their organisation clearly to suppliers, and prioritising what needed to be made and why.
