SARSAS

Their Challenge

In 2021, SARSAS (Somerset & Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support) was in the process of enormous change and unprecedented challenges under the leadership of CEO, Claire Bloor. They needed to bring their updated strategy to life for Clients, Supporters and Funders, as well as nearly 50 members of staff and 30 volunteers. They run new, innovative support services, and national projects, alongside their original helpline that has provided a lifeline for victim-survivors since 2008. They are proudly trans-inclusive and continue to work on their equality, diversity, and inclusion to ensure that no one is left behind.

Their Story: Listen. Believe. Support.

Alex Mecklenburg led this project with creative support from Ivan Pols. We ran the workshops remotely, coaching the SARSAS team through the process to create their own Brand Story. They were “more creative than they imagined they could be”, defining the key messages for their audiences, building the right beliefs and emotions around the mission. They then made the Creative Briefs for a new visual identity and website that supported their Brand Story. With a little creative support from T&S, SARSAS managed their visual identity and website delivery themselves. We also supported them with planning out their Comms Function, with job specs and advice which they used.

The SARSAS team came out of the process with renewed confidence and a set of practical tools and skills to use every day.
