Artfinder

Their Challenge

Artfinder is an art marketplace on a mission to make art sustainable, accessible, affordable, while supporting artists to make a living doing what they love. In 2021, Artfinder needed to update their values and behaviours to help them achieve their ambitious business objectives. Internally, they also wanted to understand how the relationship between their artists, buyers and themselves worked fairly. All this in a highly competitive industry with technical challenges that needed to be overcome.

Their Story: Helping more artists succeed

Truth & Spectacle were asked by CEO, Michal Szczesny, to run two workshops with the Artfinder team. The first was a Values & Behaviours Workshop to help them write new principles for the business which provide a compass and guide their team. This involved an online workshop with the senior leaders, and several follow up creative coaching and crafting sessions with a smaller team who were responsible for delivering the final principles to the business. The Artfinder team owned the process from beginning to end.

The second session was a Big Leap Workshop to help them think about a big question: How could they help more artists succeed? This was a challenging, interactive and educational session where the team heard each other and started to think creatively in a uniquely Artfinder way.

Artfinder’s principles are statements of intent about how they are going to deliver against their strategic mission, they translate their values into actionable behaviours.
